Schengen Visa application must behold a travel
insurance of the applicant
According to a decision made by the Council of the European
Union, persons
who apply for an entry visa to the Schengen area must now prove
that they
have a valid medical travel insurance. The insurance must cover
costs for
emergency treatment, hospitalisation, urgent ambulance transportation
and
medical evacuation back to the home country. The Schengen countries
under
this new regulation are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland,
France,
Germany, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain
and
Sweden.
The IHI Travel insurance meets all these demands and is ideally
suited for
people of all nationalities visiting the Schengen area.
Expatriates in Iraq and Afghanistan
In response to the increased risk, many insurers have ceased
offering medical
cover to expatriates in Iraq and Afganistan.
IHI is one of the very few companies providing international
medical and travel
cover to people working in Iraq and Afghanistan, or travelling
there on business.
However, due to the increased risk, a loading of 300% will be
charged on
standard premiums for individuals and groups. |
